About the Artist - Bonnie Layton

It has taken many years to develop my artistic talents. I am a self-taught artist with 20 years experience. I recently moved to the Big Island of Hawaii. My main goal has been to master the difficult medium of acrylics. I have combined my natural talent and a love of drawing with my unique techniques to achieve an enlightened spiritual feeling of comfort and happiness in my art.

I've been many places on the mainland U.S. from Washington to Arizona over the years. Since moving to Hawaii, I have become a member of the Volcano Art Center and have accepted commissions for family portraits. My portraits of pets are also becoming increasingly popular. My most recent works can be seen at Volcano's Cooper Center.
